**Background • The unique national tree planting initiative inviting people across UK to ‘Plant a Tree to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022
• Individuals to Scout/ Girl guiding groups, villages, cities, schools, Rotary Clubs and corporates are encouraged to play their part to enhance our environment by planting trees

**Project Benefits Environmental Aspect which is pertinent in most Corporations and in their strategic plans
Assists in meeting Corporate Social Responsibility requirements
Financially Cost effective since Rotary will be providing all materials
Time cost effective as Rotary will be completing all required forms , sourcing sites and material
Allows development of employee skills – team building , leadership
Nationally visible project with excellent environmental aspect which provides positive marketing of the Corporation to the public and share holders
Opportunity to plant trees on Business Partner sites

Possibility of being on local radio and or TV

Objectives Participation in the National project to plant trees during the Queen’s Jubilee year in order to benefit Urban areas , increase wildlife , provide working wood and offer environmental benefits associated with trees
Allow Business Partners to participate in the QGC project which enable them to meet CSR requirements and develop employee skills
Scope of work u Her Majesty and The Prince of Wales planted first Jubilee tree in the grounds of Windsor Castle in March 2021,
u Best time for the Nation to plant trees October to March optimises chance of trees flourishing.
From October, our Jubilee tree can be added to The Queen’s Green Canopy map
Source Sites for planting
Purchase – secure tree packs
Provide presentations to the nominated Business partners
Develop timetable with Business Partners
Assist in developing promotional material
Purchase and print plaques
Project Costing u schools or community groups, may apply for free saplings from autumn 2021 through our Woodland Trust partnership.
If these are no longer available, it will be necessary to purchase
The plan is a QGC fund with each of the 4 clubs contributing on equal basis .Around £250 providing £1000 max
QGC plaque can be applied for , however, Rotary and Business Partner name cannot be added Therefore considering additional plaque supplied by the 4 Rotary clubs to accommodate this
Material requirements Tree packs from Woodland Trust – Urban Trees ; Wildlife Tree ; Working Wood and All Round Colour – Depending on number of sites Total of 2000 trees
Equipment -Spade dibber etc
Materials such as feed fertiliser
Labour – which is where Business partner is required
Rotary Plaques
Business will not be asked for monetary funding
Success Criteria Number of trees and sites ; survival of trees , number of Business partners involved
Constraints Finding suitable sites
Finding willing Business Partners
Lack of desired and required trees
Insufficient labour
Meeting deadline of March 2022
Need for tree caring during early stages
Terms and Conditions To be carried out on forth coming acceptance of project and identification of each of the sites. Work with Business Partner using current Rotary MOU available
