**Background The School needs to refurbish and extend the possibilities of use of their sensory room to support the needs of their pupils.           Some of the equipment is no longer serviceable. The room is seen as a part of the learning environment in school and as an extension to each classroom. Pupils can learn in different ways and by using different media and having extended experiences of the world around them. The School sees the value of this area to provide mindfulness opportunities for their young people to support their mental health and well-being. They need the environment to be a completely immersive experience. The environment would be used to provide communication opportunities for some of the more complex learners and allow them to control their environment and enable them to make clear choices that have a positive impact. They need an environment that it tailored to the needs of the learners and enables the learners to increase their technology skills
**Project Benefits TOGETHER WE WOULD ACHIEVE A happy and welcoming environment where pupils are successful learners (enjoy learning) Children, staff and parents are proud to be part of the school Helping individuals to achieve their full potential and successfully move to their desired destination Investing in lifelong learning and success Embracing new technology to reach goals Valuing, celebrating and pursuing individual progress Educational excellence for all
Objectives To help all children to be happy, confident and enthusiastic learners. To encourage creative, enquiring minds. To enable each child to reach their full potential by fostering self-esteem and a sense of achievement. To encourage the development of skills and attitudes to promote lifelong learning.
Scope of work Decorate the sensory room. Carlton Rotary would project manage the works and schedule in the various aspects of the complete programme. We would hope that the Decorating Company would be able to provide both materials and labour. The timing of the decoration will be after the electrical installation 1st fix and plastering and before the final hardware installation.
Project Costing The cost of the specialised sensory room equipment will be in the region of £50,000. This money will be provided by St James Place Trust and other Trust holders.
Material requirements Non-toxic paints that will be durable and suitable for use in an area used by young children. Light in colour and suitable to be used as a projection area.
Success Criteria At the beginning of the project we would plan timelines and when the partners had been selected, we would set up a full project plan.
Constraints Basic project management Problem-solving Conflict resolution Transformative conversation Technical documentation Risk management Customer and client management
Terms and Conditions See attached MOU that would be used.
Key Assumptions We are assuming that we would be able to raise the money required before the project commenced.
