**Background The School needs
to refurbish and extend the possibilities of use of their sensory room to
support the needs of their pupils.
Some of the equipment is no longer serviceable. The room is seen as a
part of the learning environment in school and as an extension to each
classroom. Pupils can learn in different ways and by using different media
and having extended experiences of the world around them. The School sees the
value of this area to provide mindfulness opportunities for their young
people to support their mental health and well-being. They need the
environment to be a completely immersive experience. The environment would be
used to provide communication opportunities for some of the more complex
learners and allow them to control their environment and enable them to make
clear choices that have a positive impact. They need an environment that it
tailored to the needs of the learners and enables the learners to increase
their technology skills
