Inner Wheel – District 22
Visit our website
Inner Wheel is one of the largest voluntary organisations for women in the world today, formed in 1924 in Manchester by our founder Mrs Margarette Golding to complement and support Rotary Clubs. There are around 20,731 members in Inner Wheel in GB & I in almost 800 clubs, and over 95,000 members worldwide.
Inner Wheel clubs meet once a month, and often speakers are invited to talk on a variety of subjects. There are no attendance rules.
Clubs frequently raise money individually for charities of their choice, but fund raising is not one of the stated objects of Inner Wheel which is to promote true friendship, foster international under-standing and encourage the ideals of personal service.
Inner Wheel offers all members an instant circle of friends. When you join you immediately meet those who live in your area and many long standing friendships are formed which are of great value, particularly if a member becomes widowed. We support charities both at home and overseas but we also have social events and outings where friendship and fellowship abounds and we have a great deal of fun.
If your local Rotary Club does not have an associated Inner Wheel Club, there is sure to be one close enough for ladies to join. Currently, we have clubs in Alfreton, Beeston, Bolsover, Carlton, Chesterfield Scarsdale, Church Wilne, Clay Cross, Heanor, Hucknall, Keyworth & Ruddington, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Long Eaton, Mansfield, Matlock, Melbourne, Ravenshead, Retford, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Swadlincote, Warsop, West Ashfield, Wollaton Park.
