Supporting Ukraine with Power !

Market Rasen Rotary is raising money as part of a national Rotary project to send generators to Ukraine. Over £126,000 has already been raised, plus £5,000 by Market Rasen.

Back in October, Market Rasen Rotary produced, with the help of Ukrainian mothers and daughters, who are living locally to us a 16 minute Video to appeal for donations to their Generator purchase appeal. Following the completion of the video, they hosted a Ukrainian lunch to which some 12 Ukrainian guests came along to see the launch of the appeal (pictures below).

Since the start of the appeal £5,000 raised by Market Rasen has been forwarded to the Marlow Thames Rotary, who have passed it on to Tony Preston of the RC of Ukraine Unity. Tony purchases equipment, packs the purchases in donated vehicles, (4wd and ambulances) which he delivers in convoy to the RC of Lviv, who distribute the goods and the vehicles within Ukraine. He is taking these convoys with donations from Rotary Clubs from around the world approximately every month.

In order to continue this fantastic effort Market Rasen are calling on other Rotary Clubs, Rotarians and businesses to assist with this well organised project.
