Music in the Gardens gives 100% of the event’s profits to charity. Each year, six main charities are selected from applications to receive a split of 50% of the profits plus the income derived from nightly bucket collection and programme sales. The remainder is donated in various directions. In 2018 Music in the Gardens distributed £58,000 both directly to charities and in-directly through “rewards” to Rotary Clubs for helping organise Music in the Gardens conditional that the money is allocated to charities. The “trickle-down” effect of where the money raised by Music in the Gardens ends up is impressive.
